algo hermoso // something beautiful [Paper Monuments]

algo hermoso // something beautiful: How do you feel today? What colour do you feel inside today? Tell me about something that is sometimes overlooked or forgotten. Share your story about something you think is beautiful. What is the name of your story?

algo hermoso // something beautiful was a multi-arts community workshop that took place in New Orleans with the community of Our Voices/Nuestra Voz, in collaboration with curator and writer Nicolas Aziz, photographer Gabrielle Steib, and Paper Monuments, with the support of Salzburg Global, Kresge Foundation, Antenna, and New Orleans Museum of Art.

Read an account of the workshop on the Our Voices/Nuestra Voz website.

Paper Monuments is a public art and public history project designed to elevate the voices of the people of New Orleans, as a critical process towards creating new narratives and symbols of our city that represent our collective vision, and to honor the erased histories of the people, places, movements, and events that have made up the past 300 years as we look to the future.

Our Voices/Nuestra Voz (OVNV) is a community-organizing platform that gives parents the tools to set their own agenda for their communities, students, and schools.
