Came home to cheques for two different art projects

Just got back from Europe over a week ago. Happy surprises upon my return: grants from the Ontario Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts for two different art projects. Luck of the draw. (But another friend said, “good luck is earned.”)
Travelling around Europe after my research trip in France was wonderful. Glad to come home to another month of summer. It’s going to be a busy fall season. I’ve a piece in Nuit Blanche at the Gladstone in September, Interstitials to create for The Whole Shebang in November, and these two new art projects to schedule and complete by March 2013. One of the new projects is related to my piece in Pluralism in the Arts, published by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives. The other new project is to go further in my explorations of hybrid puppetry.
My mind is buzzing with to-do lists. Will have to get back to posting later.

But indeed, it is not so much for its beauty - that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of the air, that emanates from the old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit. -- Robert Louis Stevenson
