Something new / New York / France

Craftwork by Helen Yung Too bad this won’t fit in the mail…
The next set of gifts for The Gift List is on its way out the door. A few days behind but I’ve been busy – so many meetings and loose ends to wrangle before going to New York next week for Figment, and the week after to France for the research residency.
Also, I’ve been trying to reassess my life, how to pare down, what to take out so I can do more of what I love.
You know how it is….
Anyhow, New York. I told the nice folks down at Figment that I’d go down to do some Marginalia for the festival. Do you know about the Marginalia practice that I’ve — well, invented? You can read about it here.
Today someone watched the video on that Marginalia page and wrote back saying :
I feel totally inspired right now! Just by watching it I have a much better sense and understanding of your world and your contribution to the world of storytelling, art, dance and theatre. I think what your doing is so important and creates a whole other layer to what’s being presented, quite magical actually :)
Isn’t that the nicest?
Trying to stay on cloud nine while I get back to regularly scheduled workplans…

  1. Hi there. Nice blog you have got here. Can I ask for a lil help? I wanna adopt this theme you;re following but I m having trouble set it to this style. The traditional settings come up and I can’t have this slider image thing. Can u pls help?

  2. hi khanum
    no problem
    it’s actually just 3 things:

posts you want to feature in the slider
    1. have to be marked “sticky”
    2. have to have a featured image set
    3. featured image has to be minimum 750 pixels wide

    (regular posts only need
    featured images at
    minimum 470 pixels wide)

“Post thumbnails are 470 pixels wide, unless you make the post Sticky to show off in the featured slider, in which case they’re 750 pixels wide. Keep in mind: if you mark a post as Sticky but the featured image is less than 750 pixels wide, then it won’t display in the slider and will still disappear from the river of posts.”

    good luck !
