After finishing the Stand Firm program with Canada Council for the Arts, I was invited to join the CPAMO project. At CPAMO, I’ll be continuing with similar targeted work to advance the culturally diverse arts community.
My immediate focus is on a partnerships project and some workshops on technology for business administration.
The workshops will take place in Ottawa, Kingston and Toronto. The fundraising work will begin with a pilot project in Toronto.
I’ve been trying to take an asset-based community development (ABCD) approach, but it’s tough. Our members are geographically spread out and the communities around them are not always well-identified. This makes for an interesting opportunity. I’m contemplating publishing a series of blog posts to document my research into the communities around this year’s targeted clusters.
CPAMO stands for Cultural Pluralism in the Arts Movement Ontario. You can find out more about the project here.
